song of the moment - i want to hold your hand (prudence's version)

song of the moment
i want to hold your hand (prudence’s version from across the universe)
by the beatles, or prudence, or t.v. carpio, take your pick

Okay, I know I usually try to put the original versions first, then point out which cover is my favorite, but I don’t wanna. So deal with it.

yeah, i´ll tell you something
i think you'll understand
when i say that something
i wanna hold your hand
i wanna hold your hand
i wanna hold your hand

oh, please, say to me
you'll let me be your man
and please, say to me

you'll let me hold your hand
now let me hold your hand
i wanna hold your hand

and when i touch you i feel happy, inside
it's such a feeling
that my love
i can't hide
i can't hide
i can't hide

yeah you, got that something
i think you'll understand
when I feel that something
i wanna hold your hand
i wanna hold your hand
i wanna hold your hand

And in case any of you happen to live under a rock and think The Beatles are bugs or cars, here’s the original
(Oh, and also, please find someone to smack you upside the head)

Notice the bass line?
Respect

Yes, I know, The Beatles are classic icons never to be replaced, but there’s something about the vulnerability portrayed in the Prudence's version that just gets me (I’m a sucker for musical vulnerability).

I don’t know how/why I didn’t see the movie Across the Universe sooner, but I’m glad I got it when I did.
Obviously, if you’re a hard core Beatles fan (and a bit of a purist), this won’t be your cup of tea, but I enjoyed it (strangely, the second time more than the first - the third was to camo the neighbors’ fighting so I could sleep, therefore didn’t count, so we’ll see if the fourth time is even better than the second) . And that’s all I have to say about that. To each their own, and all that. Crap, I forgot what my point was. Did I have one? Ooh skittles!

If you like the movie but aren't that familiar with the Beatles, go listen to their music, the jokes are a lot funnier (sad to say, I didn't catch Sadie's killing grandma with a hammer crack the first time through).

This version made me want to remake songs. Don’t you ever hear a song and there’s something about it that grabs you, but also something about it that’s just off? I now have to urge to find those songs and remake them to fit me, personally (cuz, you know, the world revolves around me). I do tend to take music rather personally. Most people don’t get it. The one person that did get it turned out to be a raving lunatic. What does that say about me?

But I digress, it’s what I do. Deal with it.

Okay, I don’t even know what I’m talking about anymore, so I’m just gonna stop, and possibly go to sleep (but more likely just lay in bed wondering why I’m not sleeping - couldn’t possibly be the monster I had before singing tonight, or the three cappuccinos I had at dinner, noooo, silly me, of course its none of those).

Peace, coffee and an absence of screaming children
:-)

PS
In answer to the shampoo question in the apple comment (it makes sense, and if it doesn’t, I’m probably not talking to you), that day (and coincidentally, today also) my hair smelled like the conditioner that comes with the natural instincts hair dye (I just reconditioned) (oh, and my hair is now burgundy, Monday it was blonde, and April it was black).
Although if you’re looking for a new shampoo, I’ve been using suave professionals humectant for a couple months (bought the big family size bottle a week before I chopped 13(+) inches off my hair, so it’s lasted quite a while), and have found it rather pleasing, olfactorily and otherwise.

Now I think I’ll take your advice and go listen to apple again, after I scratch my left leg, because it itches, and I think that should be handled with slightly more immediacy.

let me know if the links don't work

so i can give a stern talking to, or maybe even fix them
